I became involved
in the sport of Athletics some 25 years ago when my son
joined the local club. As a parent and volunteer I assisted
with the competition, in particular as a starter. I also
assisted with the field marking and setting up of equipment
for the competitions. I soon realised that the quality of
equipment available was rather poor. With this in mind I set
about sourcing equipment that met the rules of competition
at a reasonable price. Something that the average Athletics
Clubs and parents could afford to purchase.
I have been a technical manager at local, regional and
National competitions over the years. I found that the
equipment supplied for these athletes was not of the
standard needed for the athletes to achieve the levels
required for the world circuit. My passion for the sport and
personal involvement with the top athletes of that period
actioned my sourcing the "best equipment in the
world", that which these athletes would be likely to
use at their International competitions.
I have been able to assist with "no strings
attached" our great athletes such as: Jana Pittman,
Andrew & Louise Curry, Matt Shirvington, Deborah Lovely,
Ronnie Buckley, Stuart Rendell, Justin Anlezark, Scott
Martin, Dani Samuels, Debbie Sozmenko and Bronwyn Eagles
just to name a few. My association and assistance was also
afforded to the nations top coaches such as: Peter Lawler,
Michael Khmel, Merve Kemp, Rudolph Sopko, Denis Knowles,
Earnie Shankelton and Lawrie Barclay, and many more.
Over the years I have sponsored many clubs both Senior
and Little Athletic, Little Athletics NSW, Athletics
Australia, Athletics Victoria, Athletics NSW. In the 2000
Olympics I was called upon to make up the shortfall of
equipment imported for the Games.
My mission is to make available equipment that meets
all rules of competition, of a standard that will assist the
athletes to achieve their goals and to lift the profile of
Athletics in Australia.
I am the Australian agent for Nelco, their equipment
is used at International competitions, World Championships
and Olympic Games.
